Chemical Safety Report (CSR) This means the reporting of the Chemical Safety Assessment (CSA) which is not an insignificant undertaking. It requires, for example, literature searches for toxicological and ecotoxicological endpoints. The resulting information needs to be evaluated. We will undertake the Physicochemical Hazard Assessment, Human Health Hazard Assessment and Environmental Hazard Assessment. Robust summaries will be prepared. Also a separate PBT and vPvB Assessment is needed. Depending on the outcome we may need to complete an Exposure Assessment, develop Exposure Scenarios, and complete the Risk Assessment. This requires specialist input from experts which we recognise and bring together in a clear and coherent way. In practice There are various steps and activities that need to be completed to ensure that a joint technical dossiers for registration purposes is developed. The approach is similar for toxicological and ecotoxicological work and covers:
For dangerous substances as well as PBT/vPvBs exposure scenarios will need to be developed. We undertake this work and related requirements. This means developing both generic and specific scenarios, preferably in such a way that estimates be used for multiple substances in a company’s or consortia’s portfolio. For each product use identifier information is critical and includes sector of use, product category, article category and environmental release category. We use currently established as well as newly developed tools. The development of exposure scenarios requires communication with the downstream users, which will be handled using most excellent and appropriate tools.
